(BMRI) - San Luis s11-
DMG Permit No. M-88-112 I
Bi-weekly Water Sample Report
February 3-5, 1993 Sampling Event
Dear Mr. Oehler:
Enclosed are the analytical reports from Core Laboratmries
for the bi-weekly water samples collected on
February 3-5. 199 as specified in the April 1992 Aba#ement
Plan. The final analytical report from Core Labs was
received at the San Luis Mine on Ma 12 1993. The c3toss-
reference table between sample i entification numbers and
sample locations is attached. As specified in TR-006,
calculated free and wad cyanide values for the process point
samples are enclosed.
No deviations from the sampling 4A/4C protocols, TR-006,
were noted for any of the samples collected. However, it
should be noted that approximately eight inches of ice was
chipped from the surface of the RS-5 sampling location
before flowing water was reached. The sediments in the
stream bed were disturbed during ice removal. The stream
bed was given time (approximately 10 minutes) to settle, and
the flowing water was allowed to visibly clear. wells M-9,
M-12, and M-13, the five process points, and RS-5 were
sampled. Wells M-2, M-6, M-7, and M-8 and the three
lysimeter pairs were checked and found to be dry. A barrel
filter rinse blank and a field blank were taken as field
quality control samples.
The Core Labs analysis for total cyanide on samples frlom the
RS-5 station (930203 BMG O1), the upper pond (930203 BMG
02), the lower pond (930203 BMG 03), the collection potnd
(930203 BMG 04), and the post detox (930205 BMG O1) Ovals
performed after the EPA recommended holding time was
exceeded. Also, the analysis for ammonia and chloride on
the RS-5 station sample (930203 BMG O1) was performed after
the holding time was exceeded. A narrative from Core Labs
discussing these samples is attached.
A.SUBS/DIARY OF BA7TLF MOUN(A/N C,OLO COMPANY
P.O. BOX 31U SAN LUIS.
