i
A summary of the current and accumulative disturbance and reclamation data
for each federal coal lease are presented in Table 1. This summary reveals that
during the 1981 reporting period, 232.64 acres were disturbed by mining. The
accumulative total number of acres disturbed as of December 31, 1981 is 3324.17
acres. Reclamation progress during the 1981 reporting period accounted for
392.21 acres reseeded. An accumulative total of 1835.37 acres have been re-
seeded or about 55 percent of the total disturbance. In addition, there are
another 527.62 acres of graded spoil which have been recontoured and in the
process as conditions allow, of being retopsoiled and reseeded. The combined
acreage of reseeded and recontoured sites brings the total number of acres
I reclaimed or in the process of being reclaimed to 2,362.99 or 71 percent of the
1 total disturbance. Acreages include both federal and private coal mining oper-
~ ations and support facilities for each operator associated with a federal lease.
