12. In the second paragraph on Page 15-10, the fourW sentence reads "in the summer of
1986, 13 new monitor wells (GW-N 13 ituough GW-N22) were completed in the
Nucla East mining area. ". Numerically, 13 to 22 would indicate a total of 10 wells,
not thirteen. Please explain the discrepanry, or correct if this is in error.
13. In the second paragraph on Page 15-10, a sentence near the end of the paragraph
reads "Monitor well GW-N4R was installed as a replacement monitor well for GW-
N4". However, in the 1995 AHR, WFC provided groundwater level data for both
wells, and provided water quality data from well GW-N4, but not from GW-N4R.
Please explain the discrepancy and then correct the deficienry.
14. There are currently two different maps that show water monitoring locations for
Mine 1 (Exhibit 7-1) and Mine 2 (Map 2.07-1-A), however, numerous discrepancies
exist between the two maps. Although having two separate maps showing the
locations of each mines respective monitoring stations is feasible, it is preferable to
have one map showing all the stations with a legend stating which stations have been
deleted, and which are currently used for Mine 1 and Mine 2.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~~~ ~
Harry B. Ranney
Environmental Protection Specialist
