' 2
(5) Consultations
' (6) Mitigation and monitoring proposals.
Cultural resource inventories began in 1988 and continue to
the present. These inventories include Class III (intensive
level) archaeological pedestrian survey and Class II
(reconnaissance level) historic survey of all lands within the
permit boundary. In addition, some adjacent property owned by
' Southdown has been archaeologically surveyed at the intensive
level (see Table I).
The completed reports listed in Table I have been submitted
' to SHPO and Boulder County. One archaeological report is
currently being completed addressing possible county road
' relocation alignments and two off-site properties. When this is
completed it will be submitted to appropriate agencies. A
' special report addressing potential blasting impacts to the
Montgomery School has been submitted with this cultural resources
' studies status report.
These inventories determined that within the mine and
reclamation plan areas, as proposed in the Boulder County Special
t Use Permit and the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board 112
Permit applications, no surface archaeological sites will be
impacted. Four historic features (irrigation ditches) will be
minimally impacted by haul road bridge crossings. One off-site
' feature, the Montgomery School, will be in a secondary impact
(off site) zone from blasting ground vibrations.
