Natural drainage patterns on the mine-yard slopes were
identified and topsoil-erosion control measures were de-
signed. Diversion trenching at the brow of the topsoi:Led
slope above the administration building appeared to be an
effective control.
Wildflower seeds and shrub seeds were planted on ~iarious
slopes in the mine-yard.
Preparation for the sinking of the No. 5 shaft for
ventilation began.
The gravel storage area was moved to a location adjacent
to No. 1 settling pond but did not create any new
disturbance.
Mill Site Update
Topsoiling was also continued on the tailing dam face
(Area 9). Bench top surfaces are being graded to drain back
toward the dam preventing the possibility of sloughing of the
brows. A total of 15,500 cubic yards of topsoil was
distributed on the higher benches and slopes of No. 1 trailing
dam and 4,900 cubic yards on the lower benches and s1oF~es of
No. 3 tailing dam during August and September of 1981.

Percent by
Common Name - Variety Wei ght in Mixture

Redtop 3
Creeping Foxtail 5
Meadow Foxtail 5
Cicer Milkvetch - Cicer 4
Smooth Brome - Manchar 15
Orchard Grass 5
Arizona Fescue 4
Hard Fescue - Durar 8
Red Fescue - Pennlawn 8
Timothy - Climax 5
Big Bluegrass - Sherman 3
Canada Bluegrass - Reubens 2
Kentucky Bluegrass - Troy 3
Rye - Balboa 20
White Dutch Clover 10
