DMG Permit No. M-88-112 July Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of July. Permit revisions approved by the Division per Technical Revision thirty-one (TR-31) were implemented during the month of July. The NANO/RO water plant operated intermittently during the month. A total of 10,327,900 gallons of water (31.70-acre feet) was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of July. All surface water stations were inspected weekly and RS-4 and RS-6 was found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. The piezometers on the main embankment of the tailing impoundment were checked on July 30'", the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on July 31" with the following results: BF-1 was 28.94 ft., BF-2 was 32.53 ft., BF-4 was 2fi.18 ft. and BF-fi was 31.88 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 29.19 ft., YW-2 was 29.39 ft., PW-3 was 36.43 ft. and PW-4 was 30.40 ft. The underdrain was measured at approximately 40 gpm. The collection pond leak detection system was pumped July 31"; the leak was approximately IS gpad. The collection pond is pumped weekly to maintain a small volume of water. No holes in the liner have been found to repair. The seeps remain dry. With DMG approval a total of 1,542,200 gallons (4.73 acre feet) of brine water was pumped from the evaporation system collection ponds to the tailings impoundment.
