5. Well depths were not included in the data tables for SSP59-
SSP64. Please add this information to the tables in future
reporting.
Monitoring Freguency
The operator has done an excellent job of meeting the required
frequency of site visits and taking the required number of water
samples. Samples were analyzed for the proper constituents as per
the approved plan.
Water Ouantitv and Oualitv
Spoil Wells
1. It is stated in the AHR text that spoil wells 59-61
experienced water level increases due to the regrading of
topsoil in this area. Please provide a more detailed
explanation of what is meant by this statement.
Bedrock Wells
1. GW-S2-U monitors a fly ash disposal pit, yet only water
level is monitored at this well. What is the rationale
for monitoring water level only at this well?
2. Well GW-S2I-LWI also monitors the fly ash disposal pit.
However, this well is sampled but uses the short list
which excludes heavy metals which are included in the
long list. Please explain the rationale for the limited
sampling of this well.
3. In Table 7-81, the term contaminated is used in the
remarks column for some wells. What does contaminated
mean when used in this context?
Surface Water
1. How often are stream cross-sections determined and by
what method?
Summarv
Mining appears to have little impact currently to the Fish
Creek surface and alluvial water system. Grassy Creek total
dissolved solids content continues to be elevated as a result
of spoil spring discharges due to mining. However, elevated
salinity does not affect any current or potential use. Ground
water impacts are negligible and no off-site impacts are noted
at this time.
Please respond as appropriate to each item, correcting and
submitting information as necessary.
