I
i~
2. Mine Site: Backfilling and grading operations at the Mine Site commenced during December, 1993
as part of "Reclamation Project I ". The reclamation areas encompassed by Project I are shown on
attached 1993 Annual Reclamation Map, Mine Site.
EFMC initiated Project I by backfilling a portion of the pre-law highwall west of the shop building
through the end of the reporting period. The backfill location is shown as Highwall Backfill on the
above referenced map. Approximately 1900 ccy of overburden was removed from the raw coal pad area
and placed against the highwall. The area involved in the backfilling operations was approximately OL3
acres.
Tonsoiled Areas
No areas were topsoiled during the reporting period.
Current and Previous Revege[ated Areas
EFMC did not revegetate or augment seed any areas during the reporting period.
No previous permanent vegetation planting has been completed within the Raton Creek permit area.
Conclusions
EFMC's reclamation work is accomplishing timely completion of permanent reclamation in accordance
with the permit application. Current reclamation practices effectively minimize overall site disturbance
and promote establishment of the site to its approved post-mining land use,
~i
