<br />Access roads required for construction operations or for the convenience of the Contractor shall <br />be approved by the Owner and maintained in a condition acceptable to the Owner at the <br />Contractor's expense. Upon completion of construction, such toads shall 1>e reclaimed to <br />approximate original conditions unless otherwise directed by the Owner. <br />' 2.3 Suspension and Resumption of Operations <br />' The Contractor shall suspend fill placement and foundation preparation operations whenever <br />conditions for such operations are unsatisfactory due to rain, snow, wind, cold temperatures, or <br />' any other reason deemed detrimental to said work by the Engineer. <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for protection of excavations and fills Prom inclement <br />' weather. Where operations have been suspended, the effects of the rain, wind, or other adverse <br />conditions shall be considered by the Contractor before resuming construction Fill placed on <br />' frozen or overly wet surfaces shall be considered unacceptable, as determined by the Engineer, <br />and removed at the Contractor's expense. Equipment shall not be allowed t~ travel on fill <br />materials until [he fill has dried sufficiently to prevent excessive rutting and to allow the <br />' equipment to be operated satisfactorily. If such rutting does occur, the Contractcr shall re-level, <br />scarify, dry, and recompact [he material to whatever depth is required, with the re-leveling and <br />scarifying being at the Contractor's expense. <br />2.4 Protection and Maintenance <br />' The Contractor shall maintain all fill placed in a condition satisfactory to the Engineer. <br />r The Contractor shall take such steps as are necessary to avoid ponding of water on the fill or <br />contamination of [he fill by traffic or other causes, and shall at all times keep the fill surface and <br />' slopes free from rubbish, rejected or unsuitable fill, or waste materials. <br />It is the Contractor's responsibility to maintain protection of the liner and liner covering lined <br />' areas in such a manner as to prevent erosion due to inclement weather and snr wmelt. Should <br />[his protection be breached, it is the Contractor's responsibility to rehabilitate said liner system <br />' to approved conditions prior to resumption of work. <br />2.5 Communications <br />' All notices, demands, requests, instructions, approvals, proposals, and claims must be in <br />' writing. <br /> <br /> <br />
