I
I ; - 3 -
previous report), A-6, A-7, and A-8. A11 six borings were.
advanced by augering in soils and by coring in rock. Their
III locations are indicated on Plate 1, Site Plan. Borings E-1
to E-3 are located on the center lines of individual mine
~~i entries; borings A-6 to A-8 are located along the alignment
~ of the access road.
i~ Logs of the borings are presented in the Appendix A of
' ~ this report.
2. Installation of piezometers in all these holes; stand-
' pipe, open-type piezometers were used in all installations.
!! In addition, ten more piezometer (i-A, 1-B, 2-A, 2-B, 3-A,
II
~' 3-C, 4-A, 4-B, 5-A, 5-B) were installed along the center
' ~; line of five pxoposed mine entries, in the portal-adjoining
i~ sections. The location of the piezometers is shown on Plate 1,
ii Site Plan; description of their installation, the depths and
~~ ground water conditions are presented in the Appendix A.
I
~~
i~ 3. Point load testing of selected rock types on cores ob-
' i, tained from all rock borings drilled within this investigation
I
and on some selected cores from ARCO's exploration borings. The
i;
purpose of point load testing is to obtain approximate nu-
' I merical values of the unconfined compressive strength of the
rock. The results are presented in' Appendix A.
1
4. Laboratory testing of selected soil samples to classify
the soils and to obtain suitable input parameters for the analy-
' ses. The testing results are presented in Appendix A.
5. Stability analyses of selected slopes and structure;
' ~ o.~«.o.o .K
