Christine Johnston
Mountain Coal Company
Page 4
November 12, 1997
• Chloride was missing from all surface water sample locations.
• Field parameters (which includes flow, pH, conductivity, and
temperature), and aluminum (dissolved) were not provided for the North
Fork Upper station during the third sampling period.
• Field parameters for the North Fork Lower station during the third
sampling period.
• Flow was not measured for Minnesota Creek Upper Flume during the
second sampling period.
• Aluminum (dissolved), conductivity, and pH were not analyzed for during
the annual analyses for Middle Dry Fork Flume.
• Conductivity and pH were not analyzed during the annual analyses for
Lower Gribble Gulch, Horse Gulch, East Gulch, Deep Creek Upper, and
Deep Creek Lower stations.
• Seasonal water quality analyses were not provided for Pond MB-2R.
Please provide an explanation why these data, required according to the approved
monitoring plan, were not collected. If these data are available provide them in revised
report pages. A notice of violation will be issued due to the above-referenced lack of
monitoring data.
15. The following required analytical data aze missing from Appendix F-Spring Water
Quality Tables:
• Chloride from all spring sample locations.
• Conductivity, iron (dissolved), and pH from the annual analyses for Spring
26-1, Spring 27-1, and Spring IS-1.
• Conductivity, pH, and total suspended solids (TSS) from the data
presented for Spring CR-12.
• Conductivity, iron (dissolved), pH, and TSS from the data presented for
Spring 15-2.
