Forb cover consisted primarily of both perennial and annual
species, such as Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Kochia (Kochia_scoparia). Forb coverage represents a substantial iherease
over 1996 levels. ~ ~ ~ -
Comments: Percent survival is based upon the~initial data collection in 1995 and the most recent data collection in 1997. Since this
plot was originally planted in 1994, actual survival is likely lower than calculated.. Browse damage (83%) continues to be a serious
problem with reduced vigor or growth exhibited by plants. The reduction in survival from 52% to 43% between 1996 and 1997 is
likely the result of browse damage. Several volunteer Mountain Snowberry (Symphoricarpos oreophilus) plants were observed within
this plot although none were located in monitoring transects. -

•
