Transects are perpendicular and located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. B2 is located directly to
the north of B 1, runs along the center of the unit, and is marked with aluminum tags on meta] boundary posts (B°, B45). Transects aze
perpendicular and located at 0, I5, 30, and 45 meters. Endpoints of the tansects are mazked with wooden stakes.
Herbaceous Cover: Grass = 0.1% coverage. Forb = 2.9% coverage. Coverage by exotic weeds is relatively small within this unit.
Coverage by weedy species, however, is expected to expand.
Comments: Survival fot Serviceberry, Chokecherry, and Gambel's Oak is generally excellent within this planting unit. Wood's Rose
and Mountain Snowberry, as in other units, had a lower survival rate. The reason for this is unclear although browse damage
potentially reduced survival rates. Browse damage occurred on 66% of plants and can be expected to increase mortality in the
upcoming year.
19
