Transects aze perpendicular and located at 15, 30, and 45 meters. Endpoints of the transects are mazked with wooden stakes.
Herbaceous Cover: Grass = 1:2% coverage. Forb = 23.8% coverage. Forb coverage increased dramatically since previous
monitoring. Noted weedy species were Cheatgrass (Bromus /ectorum) and Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense). Weedy species can be
expected to spread during the upcoming growing season.
Comments:, Survival (83%) is generally excellent for this unit. Serviceberry and Chokecherry survival is similar to 1996
monitoring: Gambel's Oak survival exceeded 1996 levels. This likely resulted from the resprotiting of individual plants previously
noted as dead. Browse occurred oil approximately 96% of the plants. Continued browse will result in future mortality on this unit.
12
• •
