Lochhead
Eeeculive Direcor
rouchael e. Long
Division Director
The Division has reviewed the 1993 and 1994 AHRs for the Deserado
Mine and has the following comments:
i) In general, the reports were Well organized and complete.
2) Table 2-1 of the AHR was compared with the permit
application package (PAP). The following discrepancies
were noted:
a) Table II.C-11 of the PAP shows water quality
monitoring as a requirement for some bedrock
wells, but not for any of the alluvial wells,
whereas Table 2-1 of the AHR shows alluvial
water quality parameters but makes no mention
of parameters monitored in bedrock wells. In
Appendix A-1 of the AHR, water quality
parameters are shown as being required for
alluvial wells Qal-5 and RM-1 (which are not
mentioned in Table II.C-11 of the PAP), and
also shows no requirement for water quality
monitoring in the bedrock wells. Please
explain the discrepancy.
b) Along the same vein, Table II.C-8 of the PAP
shows alluvial groundwater quality monitoring
required but no bedrock groundwater quality.
Please clarify where the errors have occurred
and make the appropriate corrections.
