The A horizon ranges from 25 to 1~0 inches in thickness. <br />Mottles are present in the lower part of the A horizon. <br />The C horizon is typically a light clay loam or loam, <br />but in places it is sandy loam. Some areas are un~'er- <br />lain by sand and gravel at a depth of more than !~0 <br />inches. <br />McClave clay loam (0 to ~ percent slopes) (Mm) - Thi_= soil <br />is on stream terraces and bottoms in the eastern part of <br />the area. In most places it occurs as areas more than 20 <br />acres in size. <br />Included with this soil in mapping are small areas of Calkins <br />sandly loam, 0 to ~ percent slopes, and Lovel=_nd soils. Also <br />included is a McClave-like soil that hss s heavy cla;~ loan <br />surface layer less than 24 inces thick. In places, ti:e <br />surface 14yer is light colored, the subsoil is a hesvv loam, <br />and lime occurs throu¢hout the profile. Included soils make <br />up about 15 percent of each mapped eras. <br />Runoff is slow on this soil. The erosion hazard is slight. <br />All of the acreage of this soil is used for irritated crops. <br />Some areas are used to produce vegetables.
