The West Elk <br />Mine is an underground mine and the disturbed azea covers the life-of--mine facilities area and <br />several remote azeas. Minor Revision No. 270, "Thermal Event" (MR-270), required that <br />approximately 15 total acres of roads and drill pads be permanently reclaimed, Lone Pine Gulch <br />Ventilations Facilities Area required 4.5 Acres of permanent reclamation, and in 2003, 10.23 <br />acres were permanently reclaimed on the Methane Drainage Well Project (TR-96). <br />During calendar year 2004, MCC completed approximately 15.74 acres of permanent <br />reclamation, which included well abandonment, backfilling, grading, fertilizing, seeding, and <br />mulching of pad azeas and roads associated with the Methane Drainage Well Project TR-96. <br />Attached is a report including photographs, text and maps showing the locations of permanently <br />reclaimed azeas associated with TR-96, Lone Pine Gulch Ventilation Facilities Area, and the <br />Thermal Event Area MR-270. <br />Please call me if you have any questions. <br />Sinc r y, <br />~_ 6~- <br />nry A. azbe <br />Environmental Engineer <br />cc: Phil Schmidt <br />Availability of Records <br />04arr.doc <br />
