This sludge included sludge removal from the drying pad and transferred to the tailing facility (September IOth-14th), sludge removal from treatment pond 3 (September 18th-19th), and sludge removal from old pond 2 (currently unused pond) and direct transfer to the tailing facility (September 27"'-30`h). Direct transfer of the old pond 2 sludge was facilitated by the length of time the sludge was allowed to dewater while in storage within the pond. Table 3 below identifies water treatment plant sludge management for calendar year 2003 to date.
