The water level in the mine is measured through a monitoring hole which penetrates the mine opening. The water level in the mine was basically stable during 1999. MINE WATER QUALITY The discharge from the No. 3 Mine and No. 1 Mine were combined on August 11, 1995. The average flow measurements from the No. 3 Mine for the period 1990 through 1994 is summarized below. - NO. 3 MINE DISCHARGE Year 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994 Flow m 6.7 6.8 5.5 10.4 8.0 Water from the No.1 Mine and No. 3 Mine continue to be treated by the passive water treatment system. The quality of the discharge is presented in a table in Appendix IV. The quality of the discharge from the mine shows little change from last year. The average flow from the No. 1 Mine decreased during the year. The following table presents arithmetic averages of flow and quality measurements taken at Outfall 001. Outfall OOi is the discharge point for the passive water treatment system. As of August 11, 1995, the discharge from Outfall 001 is the combined discharge from the No. 1 Mine and the No. 3 Mine.
