2.0 CONTRACTOR
The main embankment phase II raise 2 earthwork contractor was SLV Earth Movers, Inc. of
Alamosa, CO. Steffen Robertson and Kirsten (U.S.), Inc. (SRK) performed quality assurance
(QA) conformance testing and observation for the construction of the embankment.
' SLV Earth Movers, Inc. was contracted to supply the heavy equipment, operators, and
supervision to construct the earth structure. Their scope called for loading typf~ one material
from stockpiled materials, placing, moisture conditioning and compacting approximately 120,000
CY of earthfill for the embankment raise. This constituted the extent of construction required
for the facility expansion.
SRK was contracted to provide QA for the earthworks to ensure compliance with the technical
' specifications. Throughout the work, SRK maintained detailed records of th<~ construction
including weekly activity reports, laboratory test data, field test data and general construction
related data. These files are on record with BMRI at the project site and in SRIt's Lakewood
' office.

3
