Ambient conditions on Trout Creek at site 301 are:
18.7 ton/day
8.78 = 47~ increase in salt loading to Trout Creek
18.7
l~° ~° ~
~^~''`' a
,~\
review of the PHC's for Foidel Creek and Eckman Park indicate that
this calculated loading is in excess of what is currently
predicted.
Therefore, the Division requires TCC (or CYCC) to do the following:
i. Submit a technical revision to the Foidel Creek Mine permit to
establish an alluvial well and adjacent surface water
monitoring site on Trout Creek below the Fish Creek
confluence. This site should be located and established
during the 1993 field season.
CYCC Response
As discussed, TCC is working toward the permitting of the required
site. Installation of the site will be completed at such time as
approval is granted for the appropriate permitting items, ground
conditions allowing.
DMG Concern
2. Submit a technical revision to both the
and the Eckman Park permit updating the
consequences section at each permit
predictions based on available data throu
calculations, data referenced, maps,
revisions.
CYCC Response
Foidel Creek permit
probable hydrologic
to reflect future
gh 1992. Include all
etc., with these
As discussed, TCC will submit the required PHC update in
conjunction with work being done for Permit Revision #3 (Eastern
Mining District).
CYCC will submit an update~to the PHC in 1994, in conjunction with
work being done with the TCC permit, due to the overlap of a number
of sites.
While the Division's calculation indicates that there is an
increase in TDS levels below the confluence of Fish and Trout
Creeks, TCC questions the Division statement that the increase in
TDS presently constitutes a threat to irrigation waters. Does the
Division in fact feel that there is an existing threat, or rather
that there is a potential concern being stated?
TCC assumes it to be the latter, with the Division stating a
possible concern.
