F.XHT RTT C'
Mininq Plan

This permit application is for conversion of a 111 permit to a 110.
The permit will allow continued stockpile and removal of valuable materials
developed as by-products during the crushing operations conducted under
the 111 permit. It will also provide a future source for Phase 5 of the
Bureau of Reclamation's Closed Basin Project.
Initial mining was completed during June 1988. However, removal of
stockpiled materials, if allowed, will take at least two years. It is
expected that the life of the pit will be less than 5 years.
A minimum of 8" of topsoil was stockpiled and will be stockpiled
if future expansion of the pit takes place. We propose to seed the top-
soil stockpile with crested wheatgrass or Western wheatgrass at a rate
of 3 pounds per acre. Depth of available material ranges from 6' to 10'.
Existing stockpiles are shown on Exhibit E as are roads and exisiting
excavations.
Water used in crushing operatings and on haul roads was imported
from farmer's ponds in the area. Any future water used for dust abate-
ment on haul roads or in processing operations will be imported from
approved sources. No groundwater was or will be encountered.
On site processing if any would be limited to a crushing operation
and perhaps a portable asphalt plant.
