ri _
P1r. Dave Shelton
Page 2
March 31, 1982
Northern No. 1 Mine (FF Seam) should we decide to resume
operations there. Specifically our new program involves
reducing the 69 piezometer monitoring locations to 43 by
elimination of all P and J seam monitoring and elimination
of G and FF seam locations not related to Curtis Creek or
the alluvial monitoring.
Sde should also address the Milk Creek Loa dout. The develop-
ment of the proposed Milk Creek Loadout has also been delayed.
Since we have more than one year's data in hand for this area,
we will also discontinue monitoring there. If and when we
decide to seek a permit on this area, we cvill resume monitor-
ing on an approved program under the permit.
Ile also understand that the State is considering reducing
tt~e requirements for quality parameters. Sde will also
be contacting you concerning this issue. Our new and
old programs are attached. If you have any questions,
please call either myself or Jerry McPhee.
Sincerely, -
Diane L. Geyer
Environmental Compliance Specialist
cc: J. McPhee
T.
