PARTI
Page No. 8
Permit No.: CO-0038342
. b. Outfa11002 ~
Effluent Parameter Frequency
Flow, MGD Weekly
Total Suspended Solids (TSS), mg/1 Monthly
pFI, s.u. (minimum-maximum) Weekly
Oil and Grease, mg/1 Weekly
Total Dissolved Solids, mgll Quarterly
Whole Effiuent Toxicity, Chronic Lethality Quarterly
Total Iron, ug/1 Monthly
Sample Tvpe
Instantaneous or Continuous
Grab
In-situ
Visual
Grab
3 Composites/Test
Grab
Self-monitoring sampling by the permittee for compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be
performed at the following locations: outfall 001 -the dischazge from the sedimentation pond (MCL-Ol), and from outfall
002 -the discharge from the underground mine (MCL-02), both prior to mixing with the unnamed tnbutaries to East Salt
Creek, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
If the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors any pazameter more frequently than required by this permit,
then the results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values required in the Dischazge
Monitoring Report Form (DMRs) or other fomss as required by the Division. Such increased frequency shall also be
indicated

c. Oil and Grease Monitoring
For every outfall with oil and grease monitoring, in the event an oil sheen or floating oil is observed, a grab sample shall
be collected, analyzed, and reported on the appropriate DMR 1n adairon, corrective action shall be taken immediately
to mitigate the dischazge of off and grease. A description of the corrective action taken should be included with the
DMR.
2. Salinity Parameters
In order to obtain an indication of the quantity of Salinity, measured as total dissolved solids (TDS), being discharged from
the site the permittee shall monitor the wastewater effiuent at the following frequencies:
Outfall
001 and 002
Frequency
Quarterly
Sample Tv~e
Grab
Self-monitoring samples taken in compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be taken at those
locations listed in Part I.B.1.
Where, based on a minunum of 5 samples, the pemuttee demonstrates to the satisfaction of the Division that the level of total
dissolved solids (TDS) in the effluent can be calculated based upon the level of electrical conductivity, the permittee may
measure and report TDS in terms of electrical conductivity.
- 3. Special Monitoring
a. Twelve Time ?,nalysis - Outfall 002
In order to determine the quality of water dischazged at this facility, the pemrittee is required to perforrn a twelve time
analysis for the following pazameters at outfall 002: The first sampling shall occur in the month this permit becomes
effective, or when dischazge commences, whichever occurs fast, and sampling shall continue for the next eleven
consecutive months. If no discharge occurs during one or more months, sampling shall resume when discharge resumes
and continue until twelve samples have been collected and analyzed using approved methods with method detection
limits as low or lower than those specified in Part I.E.3. of the permit.
See Part I.C. for Definitions.
INDperBP.dx
Revised 06/09/04
