EXHIBIT H -WILDLIFE INFORMATION
' The following information is presented from an assessment of
t the subject property by John W. Seidel, District Wildlife Manager,
Aurora, Colorado Division of WLLdtife:
1
Significant wildlife resources which occur on and in the vicinity
of the subject site are antelope, mule deer, and red fox. Other species
t present in the area include cottontail rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, and
' other small mammals; various raptors present include great horned ow Ls,
prairie falcons, marsh hawks, redtaiied hawks, and rough legged hawks.
' The occurrence of these smaller animals induce coyotes to appear to
' feed on these species.
Use of the area by the above mentioned wildlife occurs year-
' round with slight seasonal variations in densities.
' There are no threatened or endangered species from either
federal or state lists present on the site.
1 The proposed operation of extracting sand and the process of
' washing and stockpiling will cause some disturbance to movement of
mammals along the creek and in the tree Line which acts as a natural
' covered movement corridor for deer and coyotes. The trees are also
used by song birds for nesting and food production and provide cover
and hunting territory for numerous hawks.
' The activity at the site as well as the removal of certain trees
will decrease the suitability of the area for wild Life habitat and hence
' the densities of those species utilizing it.
1
