t
' -2-
Samples obtained from the field were returned to the laboratory for
gradation and .density tests. The laboratory tests indicate 3 to 8
percent of the sand material is finer than a No. 200 sieve and they
have natural densities ranging from 92 to 110 pcf.
Based upon physical observation and laboratory test results, the
sands appear to be.of sufficient depth and extent to warrant mining.
Gradation analyses shown on Figs. 3 through 7 indicate general con-
formance with the specifications for motar sand as outlined by ASTM
' C-144. Some grading and washing may be required. Additional testing
should be performed to determine potential reactivity, soundness,
organic and friable particles, etc.
t If you have any questions concerning this information or need addi-
tional data, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
' Very truly yours,
CTL/THOMPSON, INC`
1 ^
t Darre V.
