The adjacent BLM <br /> lands in NE. NE, Section 13, T46N, R16W, are leased for <br /> grazing by Weimer Ranches, and are quite remote from public <br /> view. I <br /> Last March Weimer Ranches expanded the existing gravel pit <br /> operation on their property in the NW< cf Section 18, T46N, <br /> R15W, to provide material for state highway re-construction <br /> work by means of a Special Operatiohs 111 Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Permit. The mining opera ions plan required <br /> topsoil to be stockpiled for immediate reclamation of the <br /> excavated and other disturbed areas . Alt�ough excavation was <br /> to be set-back approximately 100 feet from the property line <br /> on a 3: 1 slope, temporarily topsoil stockpiles right up to the <br /> boundary along the west edge, bordering B.L.M. lands required <br /> special authorization from B.L.M. , which �as forwarded by you <br /> on March 22, 2000. uu <br /> • CONTINUED,NEXT PAGE i <br /> I <br />
