Spill monitoring equipment will be available on site to ensure
monitoring in the unlikely event of spills migrating from the point
of occurance. Soil along the spill pathway will be monitored and
decontaminated or removed as necessary. If there is a potential for
the spill to migrate off-site, samples will be obtained immediately
' from all downgradient existing surface and groundwater stations and
any additional water monitoring points deemed appropriate to monitor
' the potential path for spill flows. The spill material will also be
tested to ensure effectiveness of detoxification a°forts. More
' comprehensive spill-specific monitoring requirements will be

9.3 Spill and Emergency Action Resorting
'
BMR will endeavor to keep all affected agencies informed about
any incidents that may occur.
Small incidental controllable spills that do not pose a human
health or environmental hazard shall be remedied immediately by
trained mine personnel. Spills or situations that represent a
' potential threat to human health or the environment will be
immediately reported to all applicable agencies. Notification will
depend upon the nature and extent of the spill or potential hazards
resulting from the spill. The decision as to who on the list is to
1 be notified shall be made by the most senior member of the project
staff available at the time of the spill.
i In the event of a spill which can be completely contained
onsite or which does not represent a reportable quantity under 40
1 CFR 117, the following agency will be contacted.
