As part of Exhibit B - Site Description, you submitted a letter from the
Soil Conservation Service which included plans for reclamation. We
assume that this letter should be Exhibit D, and that you plan to adhere
to this plan, if that is incorrect, please describe how your plans
differ from the S.C.S. recommendations. The plan appears satifactory to
us.
2. When reclamation is complete, will the pit areas drain water downhill,
or will they be left as internally draining basins or lakes? The staff
recommends that the pits be left open at the downhill portions so that
snowmelt and storm water can drain away.
Exhibit E - Mining and Reclamation
1. Please show the names of all adjacent landowners and which direction
from the affected area their land occurs.
2. Please indicate the approximate topographic contours or the general
direction of the natural slopes.
3. Please provide to scale a visible, locatable, and permanent reference
point on the map. This could be a survey corner, road intersection,
house or other building, or other structure which will help locate the
site.
Financial Warrant"y
The maximum amount of financial warranty fora Limited Impact Operation is
E5, 000.00. If you wish to commit to a 55,000.00 financial warranty, then you
do not need to provide an estimate of reclamation costs. If you want to post
a uncial warranty in a lesser amount, then you must provide an estimate of
the actual costs to reclaim the site based on what: it would cost an
independent contractor to complete reclamation. 1"his should include unit
costs for the following activities as appropriate to the operation:
backfilling, grading, topsoil application, seeding, mulching, fertilization,
and labor.
Thank you for contacting our office.
