Normally, this involves weed infested soils which need to be
treated for years after being imported. Please describe your proposed weed control
policy, which will be necessary to control the spread of noxious weeds.
Otero County has adopted a noxious weed management plan (plan enclosed).
Spraying is done annually thru the growing season. Spraying currently is being
done by Laud Rehab, Colorado Springs, Colorado and iu addition spraying is
done with County personnel also. The topsoil used in the reclamation process
would be inspected and included in the County's weed management program.
The applicant states that the landowner wants the access road (improved existing
road) to remain after reclamation has been accomplished. Please provide a signed
document from the landowner demonstrating that he wants the road to be left as is
when mining is finished.
(Signed document enclosed)
