• located above the monitored panel. The station will be monitored at the same frequency as the
upsaeam station.
Veeetadon Monitoring
TCC will conduct visual surveys of the flooded areas of the Fish Creek AVF to determine changes
in speues composition, if any. The observation will be made during the growing season as per the
following: the area within the valley not flooded by mining of that specific panel will be walked and
the number of species encountered will be cataloged. 'T'his annual survey will be conducted until all
of the mining within the Fish Creek AVF located in the NMD is completed. Therefore, with mining
of each succeeding panel additional area will be added to the survey. 'T'he species composition will
be compiled each year and compared to the prior year's survey to determine changes or shifts in
composition.
Stream Gradient/Ponding
Prior to and after mining a panel, the creek will be surveyed to establish its gradient. This survey will
be conducted for each panel in the NMD. The only caveat for the surveying program is that if too
deep of a pool is formed in the area, and the survey can not be conducted safely, then the post
mining survey will not be done. In lieu of this, the ponded area will be surveyed, either with an
instrument or aerially, to verify the amount of ponding resulting from each panel.
The result of all of the above monitoring will be presented in TCC AHR.
•
•
PR99-OS 03/28/00
