road channelling. Methods used will be these which have been
approved by the U. S. Forest Sevices for drainage control on
roads an forest service lands.
Where drainage is channelled off the road, rock or vegetation
materials will be placed in such a way as to disperse the
drained waters to prevent channelization of flows and
subsequent erosion.
P-1c. The entire access roadway does not require improvement
and the applicant does not foresee any need far improvements
at this time. At most, maintenance will 6e needed to I:eep the
road bed in its present condition. However, should it 6e
necessary to realign and/or reroute the present road, the
applicant will notify the MLRD of the proposed operation and
receive permission from the adjacent landowner(s) before
commencing improvements to the road.
P-ld. The loadout area can not be defined at this time. As
such the applicant wishes to withdraw any consideration of a
loadout area in the present permit application. As with
future road improvements, if a loadout area is needed, the
applicant will provide MLkD with a site location map and plans
for control of runoff on and off the site, the types of
disturbance anticipated, and a reclamation plan for
termination of use of the loadout. Adjacent landowners will
be notified to allow for consideration of their concerns, if
any. as to having such a facility adjacent to their property.
P-ie. If drainage across the mine site becomes a problem due
to increased erosion, the applicant will use a system of berms
and ditches to carry runoff around the mine site. During
reclamation, mulch and/vr furrowing will be used to prevent
channelized drainage flows on the newly replace or exposed
soils. Hav/straw mulch will be secured, if necessary, to
assist is the control of erosion of topsoils during
revegetation. Surface scarification should 6e adequate to
control draingae erosion and most of the soil should contain
sufficient debris (rocks, roots, stems, etc.) to hold seeds in
place.
P-if. The haul road is a public road and the applicant has
the right of use dust as anyother landowner on the road. The
road is also open to the general public for their use and
access to U.S. Forest Service lands. Since the road is in
tfie public domain, the applicant is not required to notify
anyone of his intent to use the road. One exception to this
is the use of the portion of the road which crosses public
lands. An application for a special use road permit has been
filed with the U. S. Forest Service, Mancos Ranger District.
No improvements are expected at this time. However, Should
any improvements be necessary at some future date, the
applicant will notify the MLF.D and any adjacent landowner.
P-ig. All surface disturbance and proposed reclamation has
been mapped on E>;hibit C - Map and Exhibit E - Map. All
proposed disturbance has been included within the Permit Area.
