Mount
Reclamation Specialist
Department of Natural kesources
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 423
Denver. Colorado 8C~2U3
Re: File No: M-86-076. Response to Adequacy Letter of June 2U,
1986.
Dear Mr. Mount:
A-1. (313) 258-6893 Northern Minerals, Inc. corporate
headquarters telephone number in Michigan. (303) 259-4525
Northern Minerals Local answering service telephone number in
Durango, Co.
6-la. Mining will progress simultaneously with the opening of
the Incas No.3 and Upper Combination Adits and reworking the
waste rock dumps. It is e::pected that all dump roc4; will be
removed from the site during the first two mining seasons.
Evaluation of the ore body underground will be completed
during this same time period. It is possible that some mining
underground could begin as early as this first season. Any
ore removed from the underground workings will be stockpiled
on existing waste rock dumps or on sites where the waste rock
has been hauled away. The sequence of dump removal will begin
with the Incas No. 3. The dump will be entered from the e:<ist
adit access road and waste rock will be picked up with a front
loader. Approximately 8U percent of the dump can be retrieved
with the front loader. Materials downslope will be drawn up
with a bacF:hoe to the e;:cavated area.
The use of the front loader and/or back:hoe will cause some
disturbance beyond the toe of the dump. This disturbance will
be F:ept to a minimum and will consist of compaction of soil by
the vehicles, removal of the upper few inches of soil, and
crushing of the vegetation. Reclamation of this newly
disturbed area will include revegetation and ripping to
breakup compaction and control drainage erosion.
All distubed areas are included within the Permit Boundaries.
B-lb. If necessary, drainage on the road will 6e controlled
by the use of culverts, natural drainage patterns and cross
