The high land lying West of the Riverdale Road is to be mined
only sparseley by removing only the tops of some of the higher hills.
The lower area, East of the Riverdale Road, lies within the
South Platte River flood plain and is to be completely excavated as
a wet pit operation and is to be rehabilitated into a lake upon cora-
pletion of the mining operation.
3. Drainage Areas
Ttio land may be divided into the following 4 areast
A-1 The largest part of the land draining through
the two large natural drainage ways and con-
centrating at a culvert under the Brantner
Uitch.
A-2 A small area draining into the Brantner Ditch
at various points along the ditch as it passes
through area A-2.
A-3 A small area draining into the Brantner Ditch
at various points along the ditch as it passes
through area A-3.
A-4 The area lying in the flood plain which is to be
mined and operated as a wet gravel pit, this
area will receive all runoff from Area A-1.
Areas A-2 and A-3 are small drainage areas which will not be
altered or effected by proposed mining operations. These areas will
continue to drain into the Brantner Ditch however it is recommended
that if the character of these areas is in any wary altered and if
construction of a rehebilltation plan is begun, another more detailed
investigation should be roads of these areas to insure that no excess
water is directed into the Brantner Ditch. The Brantner Ditch can
be protected by constructing retention ponds in Areas A-2 and A-3
and/or by constructing an overflow at the main drainage wny at con-
centration point CA-1'
- 2 -
