MPM will provide facilities for the creek
to empty into the lake which has been created by mining,
thus providing access to the river.
Fulton Ditch is located off the property along the
southeast edge of the affected land. The distance from the
property line varies from 15 to 55 feet. T.lining operations
are set back at least 25 feet in all cases.
The Platte River crosses the property in the far north-
west corner of the affected land. Mining will be conducted
only on the east side of the river. The closest point of
extraction will be 100 feet from the channel (see map
Exhibit D-1).
One well for irrigation of 60 acres exists on the
affected land (see map Exhibit C-1). The possibility of
converting this to an industrial use is being investigated.
The 60 acres in the N1V/4 of Section 9 that were to be irri-
gated are all included in the affected land total. Two other
wells owned by MP61 but not on the affected land are detailed
later in this Exhibit G.
No dewatering will be done and no discharge to the

1

river will be made; therefore no Department of Health NPDES
permit is required.
The effect of runoff water on surrounding landowners
will not be a problem. All drainage will be into the pit
area, not away from the excavation. There are small areas
that are exceptions, and they will be ditched and the water
returned to the lake to prevent damage to others.
24
