_~ • •
EXHIBIT G
WATER
' There will be a decrease in the disturbance to the
prevailing hydrologic balance as a result of the change in
'
operators of the pit. MPM does not plan any dewatering pro-
' gram. Equipment (see Exhibit D) is designed to reach the
i depth required without lowering the normal water level.
I Some of the affected land which has in part been mined since
1974, was used as irrigated land (60 acres).
1
There are no springs, stock water ponds or reservoirs
' located on the affected land.
Bull • Seep crosses the affected land in a north-south
' direction (see map Exhibit C-1). Inlet and outlet facilities
will be co nstructed and maintained so that downstream
1
interests will be protected.
' Young Ditch, which we understand is now abandoned,
crosses the affected land in a northeast and southwest direc-
t tion. A channel along the east side of the affected land
and a pipe through an existing high spot on the north side
of the propert
uson
have been
rovided so that Emil
Fer
y
p
y
g
' may enjoy any water which might be present.
First Creek crosses under the Fulton Ditch just off the
affected land. It then comes onto the affected land in the
southeast corner. No creek bed or channel is discernible,
' and as far as vve can ascertain, water is present only at
' flood times. The Adams County Commissioners have requested
that the operator provide access to the Platte River for this

'~' 2 3
