EXHIBIT D (Cont'd)
The sand and gravel deposit is underlain by a relatively
impermeable shale. The shale acts as a bottom for the pit
throughout the excavation area.
Processing equipment may include, but is not limited to,

LJ

1

1

1

C1
crushers, screens, screw washer, sand classifier, trommel
screen and conveyors. The equipment will be operated in com-
pliance with air pollution standards. If required, a
Colorado Department of Health Emission Control Permit will
be obtained.
Fencing currently surrounds that area which was mined.
by the preceding operator. The fence is the prescribed
72 inches chain link with three strands of outward canting
(450) barbed wire at the top. As the mining operation
expands, the fencing will be shifted to surround the entire
operations area.
The small amounts of water to be used in dust control
and plant operation are highly variable since operating
days, windy days, rainy days and number of affected acres
fluctuate dramatically.
The operator's intention is to minimize disturbances
to the prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land
and of the surrounding area and to the quality and quantity
of water in surface and ground water systems both during
and after the mining operation.
12
1
