Doc Date:12/11/2001
Section 816.111 (b) Continued.
IIIlIIlIl111!llllll
Implementation of the detailed revegetation plan described in
Sections 780.18 (b)(5)(i) and 816.133 will assure that all dis-
turbed areas, except approved water areas and surface areas of
roads that are part of the postmining land use, will be promptly
reseeded to achieve a permanent vegetative cover of the same sea-
sonal variety native to the area of disturbed land,
The productivity levels of the existing area as described in Sec-
tions 779.19 and 779.22 (a)(2) will be restored as the seeded vege-
tation matures. The productivity levels of sites reseeded in the
McCallum 011 Field immediately west of the proposed Kerr Mine Area
indicate the productivity levels which might be expected at various
stages of reclamation. These productivity levels are set forth in
Table 27, Summary for Revegetated Drill Pads, and Table 29, Summary

of Vegetation Types.
SIB Section 816.112 Revegetation: Use of introduced species.
Introduced species, may be substituted for native species only 1f ap-
proved by the regulatory authority under the following conditions:
(a) After appropriate field trials have demonstrated that the intro-
duced species are desirable and necessary to achieve the approved post-
mining land use;
(b) The species are necessary to achieve a quick, temporary, and stabi-
lizing cover that aids in controlling erosion; and measures to establish
permanent vegetation are included in the approved plan submitted under
Sections 780.18(b)(3) and 780,23.

(c) The species are compatible with the plant and animal species of the
region;
816-145
