The pro-
posed road will follow the same alignment as the existing
ranch and mining road. Topsoil along the road corridor will
be stripped to a depth of approximately 12 inches and hauled
to the designated stockpile west of the refuse pile. A
drainage ditch will be constructed along the south side of
the road to connect with the drainage system of the existing
road. Disturbance of vegetation adjacent to the road cut
will be minimized. Total disturbance, based on a 15 foot
wide road, will be approximately 0.27 acres.
•
It is anticipated that road surfacing will consist of approx-
imately 8 to 10 inches of red ash road material. Acid or
toxic forming substances will not be used for road surfacing.
Road surfacing improvements are also planned for the approxi-
.. mately 1,000 feet of light use road section ahead of the
• proposed road. Ditches and drainage will be improved for
optimal erosion and runoff control.
3. Power Line Construction
Power will be routed from the existing 4,360 volt power line
for a distance of approximately 300 feet as shown on attached
Exhibit 1: Rock Dust Storage Facility Location Nap. Three
poles will be required causing virtually no surface damage.
Overhead power line clearance will be maintained at approxi-
mately 25 feet to allow safe passage of surface equipment.
Reclamation
The rock dust storage tank facility is planned to remain in use
for the life of the mine. Upon completion of mining, EFCI will
reclaim the storage facility by removing all structures; salvaging
the tank, power poles, power lines and transformers; and disposing
of concrete in the mine portals or at the County Landfill. The
borehole casing will be cut off below ground level and a cement
surface plug installed to a depth of 10 feet.
•
The proposed light use road and pad area will be ripped and plow-
ed; excess road base materials will be hauled to the refuse pile
or County Landfill. Topsoil will be replaced on the road and pad
area to a depth of 6 to 12 inches and graded to approximately
original contours. The disturbed area will be scarified in order
to prepare a good seedbed. Seeding will be done in accordance
with Section 2.05.4(e), Revegetation, of the approved permit
application, incorperated herein by this reference.
t
