Mollusks
The following is the current listing of wildlife species in Colorado that are
threatened, endangered or species of special concern at the state and/or federal levels. Each
species is described by common and scientific names, status and occurrence and abundance in
the Upper Yampa Watershed and Routt County.
MOLLUSKS
Occurrence in Occurrence in
Common Name Scientific Name Status* Upper Yampa Routt County
Watershed
Acroloxus No Known or No Known or
Rocky Mountain Capshell coloradensis 3C Likel Occurrence Likel Occurrence
Cylindrical Papershell Anodontoides 9C No Known or No Known or
ferussacianus Likel Occurrence Likel Occurrence
*Status Codes:
FE =Federally Endangered
FT =Federally Threatened
SE =State Endangered
ST =State Threatened
SC =State Special Concern (not a statutory category)
List and Text Citation: Natural Diversity Information Source. November 2006.
< http://www.natureserve.org/explorer/servletMatureServe?init=Species >.
There are two species, Rocky Mountain Capshell (Acroloxus coloradensis) and
Cylindrical Papershell (Anodontoides ferussacianus), that are not known to occur in either the
Upper Yampa Watershed or Routt County. These species are not lrnown to occur in Routt
County, and therefore on site or adjacent to the mine site, due to the lack of sightings and/or
habitat.
As the mine is in permanent cessation no impact to the species in Colorado that are
threatened, endangered or species of special concern at the state and/or federal levels or habitat is
expected.
2.7-63c Revised 11/06
