• Vegetation Descri.~on - Routt County, Red Rock Pit• <br />E, Associated Soil -- X2F, This soil mappicig unit is the <br />Dclphil.l-Rock Outcrop complex. The surface layer is gravelly <br />loam about 4 inches thick. The subsurface is calcareous clay <br />loam about 8 inches thick and the underlying material is cal- <br />careous gravelly loam to 26 inches. The soil is over calcareous <br />sandstone at depths from 20 to 40 inches. The soil makes up <br />70 percent of the complex. Sandstone channery is found <br />throughout the soil. <br />The soil is rated poor as a source of topsoil due to excessive <br />slope. Soil pH is 7.4 to 7.8 in the upper horizon and 7.9 to <br />8.4 in the underlying material. Conductivity is less than 4 <br />mmhos/cm (at 25e C.).
