Vegetation Site P7ame -- Loamy Slopes Range Site <br />' A. Climate -- Average annual precipitation is 14 to 18 inches. <br />~ More than one-half of the effective moisture is snow. The <br />optimum growing 'season is May 15 to June 30. <br />B. Elevation and Topography -- The gravel pit occurs on a steeply <br />sloping hillside. Aspect is southeast. The elevation is about <br />7200 feet above sea level. <br />C. Potential Plant Community -- Soils are moderately deep, stony <br />loans, or light clay loans. Total annual yields are 500 to 1200 <br />/f/acre. Topography is steep. Dominant plants include oak, big <br />sage, mountain mahogany, sedges, bluebunch wheatgrass, western <br />wheatgrass, Indian ricegrass, and balsam root. <br />D.
