This
vegetation will provide a stabilizing cover conducive to invasion of species from
the surrounding area. No trees or shrubs will be planted. The area is inherently
' riparian and riparian vegetation tends to colonize relatively quickly.
Revegetation will consist of the following steps (all to be done in one
sequential operation):
• the placer dredge tailing (which will have been compacted by rubber tired
equipment) will be scarified with ripper teeth to a depth of 3 to 4 inches;
• the growth medium will be distributed to a depth of 3 inches; and,
' the seed mix will be distributed at the indicated density.
(The seed bed must prepared prior to seeding. Freshly distributed
growth medium provides an excellent seed bed for seeding. If seeding is done
immediately following the distribution of growth medium, additional seed bed
' preparation is not necessary. If seeding is not done within 2 days of distributing
the growth medium the growth medium must be scarified immediately prior to
' seeding.)
' 10
