Drill Site I3RL-IP-00-67 Raptor Survey <br />Raptors <br />1 he; site is located approxtmatcly ':: milt above the forest boundan~ on the Hubbard <br />Creek road in the oak vegetative communiq~. It lies within utwut 100 feet of the creek, <br />but is well buflcn;d with vegetation txtw•cen the location and the stream Douglas fir. <br />[ngelmann spruce, cottomvood and ss•illow are growing in the riparian area adjacent to <br />the drill location. <br />Nesting raptor surveys for this site were first conducted in 20(10. At that time no active or <br />inactive raptor nests were found within a I W mile radius of the site. Subsequently, (he <br />site wns constructed and neo wells dulled. In 2lN>:3 Bowie plans on returning to this site <br />and doing additional work nn the hvo wells. Prior to moving on-site and commencing <br />operations, Bowie requested that a raptor survey be conducted to make sure none were <br />nesting m the arw. On May lU, 2004 a survey of all suitable nesting habitat within 1,4 <br />mile of the site w•as conducted All trews along the drainage and cliffs to either side of-the <br />drainage were checked for evidence of curtent or previous raptor nesting activity.
