• <br />• Urill Site IPG-19 <br />tiitc and :-cces.~ Road Habitat Survey <br />Urill site IPC.i-19 is on a gentle slope which is almost flat It is aca~sscd by about 70U feet <br />of road, vvhcch intersects the Grouse Springs road to the north. "I'he site was constructed <br />in ?000 and subscx}uently reclaimed. Kevegetation on 11 May, 2004 was 3-G inches in <br />height v~~th about SU-7l1°o ground cover. Surroundin5 vegetation consists of species <br />consistent with the mountain shrub vegetation communitc such as Gambol oak, <br />snowbem~, serviceberry and chokcchern• "there is a compcmznt of grass~iorb vegctauon <br />ut the meadow to the north of the lunation utwut 300 feet. A small clone of transition <br />aspen lies 300-4110 feet to the south .4nothcr aspen stand lies about 6U{1 feet to the east. <br />This stand has a thriving snowberry underston~. The overstory is decadent with an open <br />canopy caused M mortalit} of the older aspen. [;vidcnce of this murtalit~~ is shown by <br />standing snags .and mcxlerate downfall on the forest tloor. <br />Site and Access Road Bird Suncv <br />Hirds observed around the pro}xiseJ drill site were what would be expected tiff the habitat <br />tv}xs that exist in the area. Vzfzetauun around the site is almost exclusively mountarn <br />shrub and the species observed were those normally assuriaizd with this habitat tylx. <br />• <br />
