The land in
question is not only historically significant to Colorado, but also contains natural wetlands
and Native American petroglyphs. The preservation of fragile terrain serves as a
i chronology of our existence.
it is a matter of record that Siloam Stone has violated the conditions set forth in the
current permit. What assurances have we that future operations will not be conducted
with the same contempt for authority. This is not a matter of denying one the ability to
earn a living. It is a matter of the beneficence of the land for the communiry we call
Colorado.
We care about the destruction of canyon lands, pollution of the country side, damage to a
rural road, heavy vehicle traffic on a school bus route, blasting in an area supported by
wells for drinking water and a disregard for reclamation of scarred lands.
We urge your support in this matter,
Respectf~ullJy,(~ ~- K_, \
~r4A r ~' ~.~;~N N
Douglas L.
