Location: The site under consideration for the proposed gravel ext•rac- <br /> ' tion operation consists of 75.0 acres overall , located in the northeast <br /> one-quarter of Section 2, Township 5 North, Range 66 West , 6 P.M. , Weld <br /> ' County, Colorado. The site is in an unincorporated portion of Weld County <br /> immediately adjacent to the extreme northwestern corner of the City of <br /> ' Greeley, Colorado. This site has been designated as the BEST-WAY PAVING <br /> COMPANY Pit No. 1 . A detailed legal description of the site is found in <br /> Appendix 1 . <br /> ' 2. Ownership: Both the surface rights and mineral rights to the property are <br /> ' owned by BEST-WAY PAVING COMPANY and GILSABIND CONVIDAR, both of whose <br /> address is P. 0. Box 820, Greeley, Colorado and whose street address is <br /> ' North 35th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. The President and General Manager <br /> of both companies, and the individual to be contacted regarding this <br /> ' application, is Carl V. Hill , Jr. The telephone number for both companies <br /> ' is (303) 353-1654. The applicant has held no other open cut or other type <br /> of mining permit. The lands herein do not effect any lands described in <br /> ' Section 1 .56(g) of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board Regulations. <br /> Water rights sufficient for the proposed use are owned by BEST-WAY/ <br /> GILSABIND CONVIDAR. A detailed discussion of water rights is contained <br /> ' in Appendix 2. <br /> ' 3• Topography and Present Land Use: The site varies in elevation from <br /> approximately 4728 ft. above mean sea level to an elevation of approximately <br /> 4680 ft. , resulting in an average slope of approximately 1 .5 percent to <br /> ' the northeast, or 84 ft. per mile.
