6.4.4 Exhibit " D"- Mining Plan:
As stated in the original application processing water will not be required until it is
determined that some washed aggregate is needed at this site, only then will processing water
be needed. When the need for water does occur the water will be taken from a well that the
landowner owns about one (]) mile to the north of this site. As stated at the time of need the
applicant will apply with the State Engineers Office to use this well water for the purpose of
washing sand and gravel. The anticipated quantity of washed is between 7,000-10,000 tons
per year, which means that the amount of water used would be 96,038 gallons. This is 4
percent by weight of the aggregate. All wash water would be recycled and as stated all of the
pertinent information would be submitted to the State Engineers Office and no washing
would occur until an approved plan was granted.
The question of the land use within the permit boundary needs some clearing-up.
Not all of the land encompassed in the boundaries will be excavated for the purpose of
extracting sand and gravel. The mining will occur on the terrace gravel that is located within
the permit boundaries and no mining will occur on lands that do not have any terrace gravel.
No mining will occur in or near the Moss Gulch or within 100 feet of Froze Creek. The
gravel resource that will be mine is the upper terrace gravel that runs north-south pazallel
with Highway 69. No drainage -way will be disrupted during any of the mining, all regulation
relating to the flow of stormwater will be done. The area in the Northwest portion of the
permit azea will be used for construction aggregate product storage. No mining will occur
in the bottom azeas. Moss Gulch is not a irrigation ditch as far as the applicant can find out
from the State of Colorado and local people.
County Road 105 tuns through the permit azea and an agreement with the county has been
signed and included in Exhibit "S" with this submittal. The primary county road width is 20
foot, and the applicant will leave a 25 foot no-mining buffer zone on each side of the road.
Since the permit boundary is 200 feet away from the State HWY 69, the applicant will not
have any affect on the drainage from this road the historical flows will be the same.
No hydrologic aspects of the two drainageways (Froze Creek and Moss Gulch )will be
negatively affected.
