Box G <br />Steamboat Springs, Colorado 80477 <br />(303)+879-3800 <br />RECEIVING WATER: Foidel, Fish and Middle Creeks, which are tributaries of <br />Trout Creek, which is a tributary of the Yampa River <br />CLASS: Recreation - Class l; Agricultural Use; <br />Aquatic Life - Class 1, cold; Water Supply <br />Effluent Limited Segment <br />DESIGN FLOW: Sedimentation ponds are designed for the 10-year, 24-hour <br />precipitation event. <br />FACILITY DESCRIPTION: The Energy Fuels operation consists of three surface coal <br />mines, producing approximately 10,700 tons of coal per <br />day. The coal is crushed on-site and shipped by rail. <br />The wastewater treatment facilities consist of sedimentation <br />ponds, generally located in the immediate area and downslope <br />of mining activity. The ponds collect and treat the runoff <br />from jhe disturbed areas of the mines and have been designed <br />for [hz IC-year, 24-hear precipitation even[. <br />Topsoil is stockpiled for reclamation work, some of which <br />is currently in progress. <br />PAST I10NITORING SUI".MARY: Discharges occurring in [he pas[ are essentially related <br />[o periods of heavy snowmelt/runoff. The parameter of <br />concern is Total Suspended Solids (TSS).
