<br />EXHIBIT D - CONTINUED, <br />SOILS. <br />The soils indentified in the proposed mining area are identified <br />and described in the Soil Survey of Chaffee-Lake Area, Colorado; <br />Parts of Chaffee and Lake Counties, United States Department of <br />Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, October, 1975. <br />San Isabel Stony Sand Loam(SsC). This soil occurs <br />on the majority of the terraces adjacent to the Arkansas River <br />in Chaffee County. The slopes are generally 1% to 5%. The surface <br />is generally of Dominson Gravelly Sand Loam, which the topsoil <br />only being from 6 inches to 12 inches thick and underlayed with <br />layers of Cobby Sand and Rock. Most of the acreage of this Soil <br />is Native Meadow and is used for Hay production and Grazing of <br />livestock. <br /> <br />
